Research
I received two user flows, each providing a distinct view of the user's journey. These flows helped me understand the user's mindset, which informed my design decisions.
AI-Recommended Workouts: As a user, I want to choose workouts based on AI recommendations, allowing me to tailor my physical activity to my daily health data.
Oura Ring Integration: As a user, I want to connect my Oura Ring with Raring Trainer to import data and receive personalized daily recommendations based on my health metrics.

Style Guide & Component Set
To enhance the style guide, I introduced two shades of green and two shades of orange, each chosen with intention. The vibrant oranges represent high-intensity workouts, offering clear visual cues for vigorous exercises. The calming greens signal low-intensity options, helping users quickly identify restorative routines.
This process emphasized balancing aesthetics with function. User testing confirmed the colors were not just visually appealing but intuitive in conveying workout intensity. Ultimately, this strategic use of color improved the app’s user experience, reinforcing the critical role of color in UI design and the importance of user-centered decisions.
After revising the style guide, I applied the new colors to existing UI elements like buttons and cards within the component set. I also created new components and updated the design system to ensure consistency and scalability. By adding personalized notifications and different color variations, the app now provides a more customized user experience. These visual cues help guide users to the most relevant workouts based on their daily health metrics, making the process more efficient and time-saving.
I designed high-fidelity screens based on user preferences, creating two tailored versions to meet individual needs. To enhance personalization, I added proactive notifications, curated workout suggestions, and customizable filters—helping users make informed decisions aligned with their fitness goals.
AI integration elevated the app to provide fully tailored experiences, simplifying decision-making and boosting user confidence. Vibrant orange elements motivated high-intensity users, while calming green hues supported low-impact routines, using color psychology to enhance engagement and mindfulness.
I also developed an intuitive user flow for third-party app pairing, ensuring ease of use while maintaining a consistent design system. This project emphasized the importance of thoughtful design in creating meaningful, personalized user experiences.
Integrating AI into the UI was both exciting and challenging, bringing personalized insights to users. This project required balancing creativity, technical skills, and a strong understanding of user needs to seamlessly fit AI features into the existing product.
Since I was working with an established design rather than starting from scratch, I focused on maintaining consistency while introducing new, AI-driven components with flexible variants. Designing for dark mode in the fitness space added extra complexity, making attention to usability and aesthetics crucial.
This experience sharpened my ability to design for emerging tech while staying rooted in user-first principles, deepening my passion for creating impactful, empowering experiences.

What: Develop components and variants to represent AI Recommendations for users.
Why: To provide a personalized and engaging user experience driven by intelligent algorithms that anticipate and cater to individual preferences and needs.
What: Create updated high-fidelity screens and a prototype.
Why: To test and validate changes in a real-world context, giving stakeholders a clear preview and feedback opportunity before implementation.
What: Create high-fidelity screens for a new user flow that allows pairing with a third-party app, and develop a prototype.
Why: To test AI-driven health data integration while providing stakeholders with a clear visualization of enhancements..
Prototype
Upon completing the high-fidelity screens for all user flows, I advanced to crafting prototypes. This pivotal phase marked the culmination of the design journey, offering a holistic showcase of how the diverse elements harmonize to elevate the overall user experience.
Flow 1 Prototype: Tailored for users with high power levels, this prototype showcases the AI recommendations.
Flow 2 Prototype: Tailored for users with low power levels, this prototype demonstrates the AI recommendations.

Reflection
After reviewing the app’s screens, I added notification boxes in key areas to highlight top-recommended workouts based on daily metrics. I customized each screen to offer tailored suggestions, from intense workouts to lighter options, and created a new "Recommended Workout" screen for easy access. Using "Fittz Components," I clearly presented the best daily options, while AI-powered data analysis from wearables helped users adjust their routines for a more personalized fitness experience.
Problem
Because of the abundance of wearables, users have hordes of data about how their bodies adapt and react to physical activity. However, many users don’t know how to interpret that data except to track the progress of some indicators. But what if we could use Artificial Intelligence to help them make the data actionable and practical in their process and help them achieve their goals?

Solution
Before integrating AI into the app, I took a strategic approach to ensure a seamless and user-focused design. I began by thoroughly reviewing the existing application and style guide to understand its design language and functionality. Next, I analyzed competitor apps, identifying industry standards and best practices. Finally, I examined user needs in depth, focusing on both the "what" and "why" behind key tasks. This research laid the foundation for an AI-powered solution that not only enhances the user experience but also aligns with industry expectations while offering a unique competitive edge.
